This 2-days Akagera National Park tour offers exceptional and rewarding wildlife safari encounters in Rwanda’s only Big Five destination. you will enjoy a morning boat cruise on Lake Ihema, as well as day and night game drives, providing diverse opportunities to experience Akagera’s rich wildlife.
This is a private tour, ensuring a personalized experience throughout the journey. Transportation is provided in a private 4x4 tourist-converted safari jeep, designed for comfort and optimal game viewing.
On this day, you will be picked up early in the morning, from your residence/hotel after breakfast and then taken on the 2.5hrs journey to the Kayonza district in the Eastern Province of Rwanda. The journey to Akagera National Park will reward you with planned en-route stopovers along the route. Feel free to ask your driver-guide questions about the wonderful scenery along the way. As you arrive at the park, you will start with the morning boat cruise on lake Ihema where you are rewarded with great views, several hippos, crocodiles, and bird species. Thereafter, you will drive to the drive to the North of the park and stay at Karenge Bush Camp. Enjoy your lunch there; afternoon at leisure. In the evening you will embark on the night game drive where you are rewarded with several wildlife in a calm nature. This evening you have a chance to see nocturnal wildlife species that are not easy to see during day time. Retire and drive back to the lodge dinner and rest.
Overnight stay at Karenge Bush Camp (Meal plan: lunch, dinner, bed and breakfast).
After having a serene breakfast and enjoying watching the savannah animals wake up, you will continue day with a check out, go on a complimentary game drive, before transferring back to Kigali with en route views of the scenery, plains and landscapes of the savannah grasslands. We will drop you off at a location of your choice in the city. Alternatively, depending on your flight schedule, drive to Kigali International Airport for your outbound flight back home (evening flight recommended). See you on your next trip.
